Launching a design hotel and winning awards

The challenge

Launching a design-led, sustainability-focused luxury hotel during the height of Covid travel restrictions presented significant barriers. International press travel was heavily restricted, traditional launch trips were not viable, and global uncertainty was impacting media agendas.

At the same time, FORESTIS was committed to its green and sustainability principles, meaning any launch activity needed to align with its environmental values. The task was to generate high-impact, prestige coverage without relying on international travel, while positioning the property as a serious new entrant in the European luxury design space.

Our approach

Launching FORESTIS at the height of Covid travel restrictions required a carefully considered and values-led strategy. Staying true to the client’s sustainability commitments, we adapted traditional press activity by inviting locally based A-list journalists to experience the property, eliminating the need for flights while maintaining prestige.

Alongside curated in-person visits, we implemented a proactive press office strategy, combining newsjacking, targeted listicle pitching and agile media outreach to maintain visibility despite travel limitations. Influencer partnerships were carefully selected to amplify social presence and sustain brand desirability during a period of restricted mobility.

We also secured a high-profile brand partnership with Burberry, further reinforcing FORESTIS’ positioning within the luxury design and fashion landscape.

The results

The campaign delivered an exclusive first-look review in The Times, followed by eight additional pieces of targeted coverage across leading lifestyle and design titles including SheerLuxe, Sleeper, Country & Town House and Roadbook.

Despite pandemic restrictions, the property secured significant editorial authority and industry recognition, including a shortlist at the AHEAD Awards Europe 2023. Together, this coverage positioned FORESTIS as a design-led, sustainability-conscious luxury retreat from day one.
